What we collect
When you register an idea or book an event, we collect the information you submit: your name, mobile number, email, LinkedIn profile (or your declaration that you do not have one), institution, city, skills, your idea, your team details and any co-founder details you provide on their behalf.
Why we collect it
- To evaluate and score registered ideas and maintain the Startup Flame founder database.
- To contact you about programmes, sessions, cohorts and opportunities relevant to you.
- To share aggregate results and shortlisted names with the institution where a session was hosted.
- To operate event bookings, payments and attendance.
What we never do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not share your contact details with third parties, including investors and partners, without asking you first.
Co-founder details
If you provide details of your co-founders, you confirm you have their permission to do so. Each co-founder will be invited to complete their own registration and give their own consent; until they do, we use their details only to send that invitation.
If you are under 18
Your idea will be registered. In line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we will not contact you for marketing or outreach until we hold verifiable parental consent or you turn 18.
Payments
Event payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card, UPI or bank details; Razorpay's own privacy policy governs payment data.
Your rights
You may ask at any time what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask to be removed from the database and all communication. Write to info@startupflame.in. We action removal requests within 7 working days. Grievances are addressed by the data grievance contact at the same address.
Terms & conditions
- Who we are. Startup Flame is a programme brand of NestOne Group Private Limited, a company registered in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
- Registration is free and creates no obligation on either side. Registering an idea does not guarantee shortlisting, mentorship, incubation, funding or any other outcome.
- Promotion is earned. Movement between programme stages (Spark, Ember, Flame, Blaze) is decided by our evaluation and is not purchasable. Our scoring decisions are final.
- Your idea remains yours. Registering an idea transfers no intellectual property to us. You are responsible for protecting your own IP; we recommend you avoid submitting confidential technical detail at registration stage.
- Similar ideas exist. Many participants register ideas in similar spaces. Registration does not create exclusivity, and we cannot prevent similar ideas from being registered or pursued by others.
- Event bookings are personal but transferable (see refunds below). We may refuse entry or participation for abusive or disruptive conduct, with a full refund in that case at our discretion.
- Paid programmes and services (Founder Sprint, venture services) are governed by their own written engagement terms, shared before payment.
- Changes. We may update these terms; the version on this page applies. Material changes to an already-booked event will be notified to ticket holders.
- Governing law is Indian law; courts at Bengaluru have jurisdiction.
Cancellation & refund policy
- Up to 7 days before the event: full refund, less payment-gateway charges, on request to info@startupflame.in. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7–10 working days.
- Within 7 days of the event: no cash refund, but you may (a) transfer your seat to another named person, or (b) carry your ticket to the next scheduled workshop in the same city, once.
- No-shows: not refundable and not transferable after the event date.
- If we cancel or reschedule: your choice of a full refund (including gateway charges) or a seat at the rescheduled date.
- Early-bird and team tickets follow the same rules; team tickets are refunded or carried as a whole team.

Startup Flame provides education, facilitation, evaluation and introductions. We are not an investment adviser, portfolio manager, stock broker or fund, and nothing on this site or in any session is investment, legal, tax or financial advice. Participation does not guarantee funding, incubation, commercial success or any specific outcome. Any investment discussions arising from introductions we facilitate are strictly between the founder and the investor, at their own risk and on their own terms; cross-border matters must be independently verified with qualified professionals for FEMA, RBI, tax and legal compliance. Views expressed by mentors, speakers and guests are their own.
